Chokladsnittar (Swedish Chocolate Cookies)
Chokladsnittar are sliced Swedish chocolate cookies decorated with white pearl sugar. The edges are crispy while the center is soft and chocolatey.

Instructions
▢
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) top and bottom heat and line a baking sheet with baking paper.

Cream the butter, sugar, and syrup until light and fluffy.
▢
Add the flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder and mix until the dough comes together in a ball (mix with your hands at the end).
▢
Divide the dough into two. Roll each ball of dough into a long sausage and place each on the baking sheet.
▢
Flatten the dough with your hands. Brush with the egg wash and sprinkle with pearl sugar.
▢
Bake in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes.
▢
Let cool for a few minutes and then slice into about 20 diagonal slices.
